Job Description:
As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the financial tasks and overseeing administrative operations to ensure the efficient operation of The Newton Theatre. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, your role is crucial in maintaining the venue's reputation for excellence. Here are the key responsibilities:
- Financial Management:
- Handle all bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations using QuickBooks.
- Prepare financial reports, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Handle all cash transactions with accuracy and security, including bank deposits, withdrawals, and maintaining precise records.
- Work closely with the President/CEO and other staff to manage financial planning.
- Office Administration:
- Oversee day-to-day administrative functions, including staff scheduling, office supply inventory, and maintenance of office equipment.
- Ensure a welcoming environment for staff and guests, and manage internal communication systems.
- Coordinate with different departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient event execution.
- Vendor and Client Relations:
- Manage relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring the timely supply of goods and services.
- Assist in managing client accounts and relationships, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a finance management role with a strong background in accounting or bookkeeping. Prior experience within the non-profit, arts, or entertainment sectors is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficient in QuickBooks and various other office software and accounting systems.
- Valid US driver's license and successful background check required.
